How to Switch from Skype to Microsoft Teams

Big changes are coming — Skype is saying goodbye on May 5, 2025. For over 20 years, Skype has been the go-to app for video calls and chats, but now it’s time to switch things up and move to Microsoft Teams Free.

Why make the move? Teams Free isn’t just a copy of Skype — it’s an upgrade. You’ll still have your chats and contacts, but you’ll also get tools to make work easier. Host meetings, manage calendars, and even build communities, all in one app.

What This Means for Businesses

The shift from Skype to Teams Free isn’t just about swapping apps — it’s a game-changer for business communication. Teams Free offers more than just calls and chats. It brings a suite of tools designed to make collaboration smoother and more organized. Imagine having meetings, calendars, and file sharing all in one place, seamlessly connected with other Microsoft apps.

For businesses, this means fewer apps to juggle, less time wasted switching between platforms, and more time focusing on what really matters — productivity and growth. Sure, learning a new tool takes a bit of adjustment, but the long-term benefits are worth it. Teams Free is built for the modern workplace, making communication faster, workflows more efficient, and teamwork more connected than ever.

The best part? Switching is super easy. Just sign in to Teams Free with your Skype account, and your chats and contacts move with you. Plus, until May 5, Skype and Teams Free users can still connect, so there’s no interruption.
